Genway Alternative: Self-Serve AI Interviews With Public Pricing

Genway gets the entry point right in a way most of this category does not. There is a 14-day self-serve free trial with no credit card required, which is still rare among AI-interview vendors. The site has thoughtful use-case landing pages for churn, onboarding, and concept testing, so you can see the jobs the product is meant to do before you commit time. The positioning is human-centered AI, and the company advertises SOC2 and GDPR compliance. If you have bounced off demo-booking forms elsewhere, Genway's trial is a genuine improvement.

Two things still sit between a visitor and a confident buying decision, and they are the reason this post exists: you cannot see the price, and you cannot see the product, until after you commit.

What you cannot learn before the trial

Price is the first. Genway does not publish pricing on its site. The one public number available as of July 2026 is on their AWS Marketplace listing, which shows an Enterprise plan at $30,000 for 12 months, covering 2,000 interview credits and 5 seats. That figure may or may not reflect what a small team would actually pay, and that is exactly the difficulty: you cannot know without a conversation. A trial is easier to start when you already know what a yes would cost at the end of it.

The product preview is the second. Genway's marketing shows a 1-minute video, and there is nothing interactive to try before you start the 14-day clock. The trial is generous, but it still asks you to invest setup time before you know whether the core interaction suits how you work.

The buying motion is the main difference

User Evaluation's answer to both gaps is the same: put everything in public.

The research agent lives on the marketing site, and anyone can chat with it without creating an account. Describe a research question and watch it plan a study and draft a discussion guide before you have typed an email address.

The free plan is $0 forever, not 14 days. It comes with no card requirement, 100 agent credits per month, 3 projects, 1 GB of storage, and trial grants for interviews and transcription. Deep Research is available on paid plans.

And every price is on the public pricing page. Pro is $49 per month, or $41 per month billed yearly, with 5 own-participant AI interviews each month, unlimited projects, 30 audio and video processing hours, and 30 Deep Research runs. Team is $199 per month, or $166 yearly, with 5 seats, 25 own-participant interviews per month, and 100 pooled processing hours. Interview packs are one-time purchases that never expire: own participants at $9 each in a 10-pack or $8 each in a 25-pack, and User Evaluation pool participants, with sourcing included, at $24 each in a 10-pack or $22 each in a 25-pack.

That means the full decision, from first look to budget approval, can happen without a sales call. If you later want one, fine. It is just not the gate.

What User Evaluation does

User Evaluation is an AI research agent in a chat workspace. The workflow it runs covers the same jobs Genway's landing pages describe, churn interviews, onboarding research, concept tests, and it runs end to end in one place:

  1. The agent plans the study and drafts a discussion guide and screener.
  2. It recruits real participants from your own list or from the User Evaluation participant pool.
  3. It moderates voice interviews in real time, with adaptive follow-ups, in 40 languages, and it can show stimuli such as concepts or screens mid-interview.
  4. It transcribes and analyzes each session: themes, cited quotes, sentiment and emotion.
  5. It produces reports with clickable citations that link back to the exact moment in the source recording, plus highlight clips.

Evidence always comes from real humans; AI moderates and analyzes, it does not stand in for participants. Approval gates sit in front of anything that publishes a study or spends money: the agent presents the plan and the expected cost, then waits for you. There is also a public API for teams that want the loop inside their own tooling.

When Genway is the better fit

Choose Genway if you are an enterprise buyer with the budget their AWS Marketplace listing implies, especially if purchasing through AWS commitments simplifies procurement for you. Their use-case focus on churn, onboarding, and concept testing is well-articulated, the human-centered-AI positioning may match how your organization wants to talk about research, and the SOC2 and GDPR posture will satisfy most security reviews. The no-card trial means you can validate the product before those conversations start, which is more than many enterprise vendors offer.
